Color(s) can be taken from patterned papers, cardstock, inks, digital images, stickers, ephemera, and/or hand-drawn images. Coloring tools can include crayons, colored pencils, watercolors, paint, chalk, markers, brush pens, and inks.
Colors of Choice from Color Wheel #1: This Wheel represents our ingredient for primary (secondary, tertiary) color choices. Based on the quantity for that ingredient, any of these colors and/or shades and tints are acceptable. You can enhance your project and use additional colors, but must use at least the designated number of colors in the recipe.
Neutrals are not to be counted as one of the colors of choice but can be used in addition to required quantity. In general neutrals are considered free to use after the Color Wheel #1 colors of choice, unless specified otherwise.
Neutrals of Choice from Color Wheel 2: This Wheel represents our Ingredient for Neutral Choices. Neutrals are typically white, ivory, black, gray, tan, brown, beige, and Kraft. can be used when we have a Neutrals Only requirement.
Kraft, or Kraft-Like color: May sometimes be used as a specified ingredient using this icon.
Colors and Neutral Combo Wheel 3: This Wheel represents our Ingredient using any combinatioin of primary and neutrals as choices.
Black and/or White may be used as specified ingredient and/or may include + Color of your choice.
When additional Content is included with Color Ingredient, the following will apply:
- Specific Colors: When specific colors are included in the ingredient they MUST be used; but you are free to enhance your project using additional colors as long as you meet the ingredient description.
- Rainbow of Colors: When Rainbow of colors is included in the ingredient you are not limited to the traditional ROY G BIV rainbow; however, a pastel palette or even a neon palette is acceptable.
- Monochromatic (DTC Challenge Choice): When our choice of color is included in the ingredient you can use shades, hues, tints, and tones of that same color. These are essentially alike and do not count as separate colors. This selection would be designated in the ingredient description as a quantity of 1-Monochromatic. If another color is included in the ingredient, you MUST use shades, etc. of that color and are free to use Neutrals.
- Monochromatic (Your Choice) When your choice is included in the ingredient you choose the color using shades, hues, tints and tones of that same color. Neutrals will be Free to use; but may not be your monochromatic choice.
