Did you know?
The Dog Days have to do with the ancient study of the stars. The Greeks determined the Dog Star looked to be "following" the constellation, Orion, during a certain period each year. This period coincided with the hottest, most uncomfortable part of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. In modern times, these days have been determined to be from about July 30 to September 7. THING 3 Twisted Sister

Looks like a fun challenge! Two of my cards from last challenge would have fit this theme perfectly! Your cards are so adorable! That was interesting to read about the Dog Days of Summer, had no idea where that saying came from. Thanks for the info!
Interesting challenge and I had to go look up the Dog Days of summer. According to the Farmer's Almanac, the name came from the fact ghat the star Sirius, the dog star, (hello, Harry Potter fans) becomes brighter during that time and was thought, by the Romans, to give off extra heat.
They called it diēs caniculārēs, or “dog days.”
Super inspiration too!
I never heard of the Dog Star before. Very interesting information. I will share it with my grandson, the trivia sponge!
Fun challenge ladies - so happy to be teaming with you these two weeks!
Fun challenge! My dog is off to the mountains to stay cool in the Summer :-)
Interesting abt the Dog Days. I have heard several different legends about the origin. All I know is that my cats are HOT...they say this weather is only fit for dogs who go swimming in scummy ponds...ugh. lol...
This challenge seems a bit too complex this time for my August brain, which is being stretched even by all the AG challenges this month. Ha! Who knows, though...I might get inspired if it ever cools down!

Came to ck this out from heARTful Stamping that I entered my Dog Days of Summer creation, a Dog wth a Flamingo floatie in pool, in. Read your post & Thing 2 indicates that you have to include a food or beverage which I did not so guess my creation does not qualify.

Wonderful cards!
Sunshine HoneyBee...thank you for bringing this to my attention.
Twisted Sister is always an optional twist and it is in explained in our Tab "Thing 1 and Thing 2" and usually I put it in the challenge post as a reminder but missed doing that. This has been added to the post.
Now when I look up at the stars I have to look for the Dog Star! Astronomy you have to love it.
OK, I have entered. Hard a bit of difficulty creating the link to put in my post but finally got it, then had a bit of difficulty after clicking on to enter creation but perservered and got it done. Yes, all 3 entries thus far are bumpered back to back due to the problems I was having and finally got resolved all one after the other.
Also, did not know about the Dog Star. Nice to learn something new. My dog Daisy is now 11.

Interesting - never new where the dog days of summer came from!
Well, it's definitely been a hot summer so far (dogs or no dogs, lol) so this is the perfect challenge.
Here in So. Florida we get very hot weather not just in the summer, but mostly all year! lol The summer is usually at 100% humidity, too. ugh So drinking cool beverages is a good way to cool down outside.
